“Yoga has change my life in every way possible.”

Nancy Guzman

RYT

My hope is that students will not only gain physical strength and flexibility, but with patience, persistence and reflection, develop a deeper understanding of the connection of mind, body and spirit.

Nancy was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, I fell in love with fitness at a young age learning quickly how “movement” created my personal sacred space. Beginning on the living room rug as a teenager with my mom, I practiced yoga on and off for years. In 2012, this shifted into a consistent practice when Alyssa Scalora, from Alma Yoga, taught a class at boot-camp, and I dove right back into the practice I once loved. By completing Alma Yoga’s 200 hr. YTT, I’m now able to combine

my 20-year career as an educator with my spiritual journey. Yoga has change my life in every way possible – by teaching invaluable lessons about inner strength, acceptance and ultimately – love. My hope is that students will not only gain physical strength and flexibility, but with patience, persistence and reflection, develop a deeper understanding of the connection of mind, body and spirit.

“I have grown in ways I couldn’t have imagined on the path of yoga, meditation, and energy healing.”

Kienan Lynch

Reiki Master RYT

I want to help my students reach the understanding that self-realization and physical health can be achieved in perfect harmony through the practice of yoga.

Since starting my spiritual journey in 2014 I have grown in ways I couldn’t have imagined on the path of yoga, meditation, and energy healing. As a yoga instructor I want to help my students reach the understanding that self-realization and physical health can be achieved in perfect harmony through the practice of yoga. I strive to create a nurturing environment in which students are encouraged to engage their desire to learn for a transformative experience in the wonderful world of yoga.

I intertwine the yoga experience with a passionate interest towards helping others to maintain a sound body and mind along with relaxation and awareness in their daily lives. Certified at the 200-hour level I have learned from and been inspired by Ami Jayaprada Hirschstein and Michael Stein. My devoted path towards holistic wellness and spiritual healing is further enhanced as a Certified Reiki Master and Chakra Crystal Energy Clinician.

Kathryn Abels

She realized if she brought her practice to her mat regularly, the other pieces of her life would naturally fall into place. The little questions in her head began to answer themselves.

Kathryn has been practicing yoga since college, but truly discovered it when she became immersed in the yoga community in Charlotte, NC post-graduate school. It was there that she realized if she brought her practice to her mat regularly, the other pieces of her life would naturally fall into place. The little questions in her head began to answer themselves.

In addition to being a certified instructor at the 200hr. level, Kathryn also completed her Therapeutic Yoga for Children certification through the Charlotte Yoga Club.

Be patient and trust your journey. Namaste.

Katie Miller

RYT

I look forward to stepping on my mat every single day and I want everyone who tries yoga to feel the same way. It’s never too late to try a yoga class, it is truly for everyone, every body and every age.

I have always been active and interested in keeping in shape. But as a mom to 3, it was put on the back burner. Now that the kids are older I was able to get back to it, but my body wasn’t what it used to be, aches and pains limited me. I only recently discovered yoga in the last few years. I was resistant at first, I can tell you I am SO thankful I finally gave in and took a class. So many people have said it will change my life, it did, physically and emotionally. I was hooked, I needed to know more and be sure I was practicing to the best of my ability.

At Alma Yoga in Newburgh I met Alyssa and decided to take the scary step outside of my comfort zone and enroll in yoga teacher training. I look forward to stepping on my mat every single day and I want everyone who tries yoga to feel the same way. It’s never too late to try a yoga class, it is truly for everyone, every body and every age.

Be patient and trust your journey. Namaste.
